Hunger Relief International is proud to partner with Emiti Emito Creative Arts InitiativeUganda on a three-month pilot Community Children’s Feeding Program now underway in Lusaze, Uganda.
Through this initiative, 80 vulnerable children are receiving a nutritious meal each day, helping address one of the most fundamental barriers to their ability to learn, grow, and thrive: hunger.
But our work together goes beyond providing meals.
The pilot focuses on three key areas:

Nutrition & Food Security
Providing vulnerable children with regular access to nutritious meals.

Health & Hygiene Education
Equipping children, families, & caregivers with practical knowledge that supports healthier lives.

Community Empowerment
Working alongside families, community leaders, volunteers, and local stakeholders to build local ownership and long-term sustainability.

At HRI, we know that hunger affects far more than an empty stomach. Poor nutrition can impact a child’s health, development, school performance, and future opportunities. By meeting this immediate need while investing in education and community involvement, we hope to create an impact that extends far beyond each meal served.
This three-month pilot will also allow HRI and Emiti Emito to carefully evaluate the program, document its impact, learn what works best, and explore opportunities for future expansion.
We are grateful to Emiti Emito Creative Arts Initiative Uganda and the local leaders, caregivers, volunteers, and families who are making this work possible.
Every child deserves the opportunity to grow, learn, and thrive.
Today, we’re taking another step toward making that possible—one nutritious meal at a time.
