Hitting the Trifecta Part 4 – What is a safe cookstove, and why is it so important to personal health?

In Part 4 of this 5-part series about Hunger Relief International's 2020 "Trifecta Project," we look at the final component of the Trifecta: safe cookstoves. The short- and long-term term effects of inhaling smoke from open cookfires day after day range from chronic coughing to pneumonia to lung cancer, and even to death. The safe cookstove component of the Trifecta significantly reduces the amount of household air pollution present, leading to improved outcomes for children and adults alike.
