HRI received a commitment to fund a new school feeding program that will benefit 320 children in a rural community in Guatemala. Construction of a new school kitchen will begin in one week’s time and we expect to begin the actual school feeding in early September 2012. Funding for this program is from one family, the name to be announced shortly.
Today, Monday, July 30th, work has begun on a new school for the community of Agua Zarca. A mission team from Pine Summit Baptist Church in Pensacola, Fl arrived in Guatemala yesterday and has already started work on the school for the 48 children who have been attending classes under a tarp! Thank you to Pine Summit Baptist for your support of children, their education and for your partnership with HRI.
